Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Negros Oriental, July 4, 2023
EARTHQUAKE TODAY – The Phivolcs recorded a 3.2 magnitude quake in Valencia, Negros Oriental today, Tuesday, July 4, 2023.
Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted a part of Davao Occidental a few weeks ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Negros Oriental. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 3.2.
The earthquake that struck Negros Oriental, today, Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at 08:53 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Valencia.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Negros Oriental was located at 09.28°North, 123.18°East – 007 km 00 West of Valencia . It had a depth of focus of 001 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording bureau, Intensity III was felt in Sibulan, Negros Oriental. The following instrumental intensities were recorded in these areas:
- Intenity II
- Molave, Zamboanga del Sur
- Intensity III
- Sibulan, Negros Oriental
