Suspected Perpetrator Returns Stolen Motorcycle to Owner

After a week-long ordeal, a stolen motorcycle was unexpectedly returned by a suspected perpetrator in front of the barangay hall of Brgy. 93 in Tondo.  The incident took place when the vehicle was parked near a restaurant.

According to the victim’s account, he had forgotten to remove the key from the motorcycle, making it an easy target for the suspect. The stolen vehicle remained missing for several days, causing distress and inconvenience to its owner.

Following an intensive follow-up operation by the authorities, the stolen motorcycle was miraculously discovered right in front of the barangay hall.

Kagawad Edgar Samonte recounted that a man wearing a hat and face mask approached them and left what he claimed to be the stolen motorbike. Before they could gather further information, the individual swiftly departed from the scene.

However, upon recovering the motorcycle, it was evident that the license plate and side mirrors had been removed. It is speculated that the suspect might have believed that returning the stolen vehicle would absolve him of any criminal charges.

Nevertheless, law enforcement officials firmly asserted that the suspect will still face charges under the Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016.

The authorities are currently conducting an extensive search for the evasive suspect, who remains at large. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the individual responsible for the theft and subsequent return of the motorcycle.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of securing personal belongings and taking precautionary measures to prevent theft. Vehicle owners are advised to be vigilant and ensure the safety of their vehicles by removing keys and utilizing additional security features such as steering locks or alarms.
