Ice Seguerra remains loyal to TVJ
Singer Ice Seguerra revealed that he declined the offer from Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime to be a guest and here is the reason behind this.
Ice, formerly known as Aiza, started his career through Little Miss Philippines, a popular kiddie pageant segment in the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga. Although he did not win that contest, he became a regular host of the noontime show and this lasted for more than a decade.
Ice is one of the present and former hosts of the show who expressed a reaction to the decision of TVJ to leave TAPE Inc.
The singer said that he is indeed saddened but he believes that there is no point to cling to something that makes a person unhappy.
In a recent interview on veteran showbiz writer Aster Amoyo’s YouTube channel, Ice Seguerra stressed that his loyalty will be to TVJ. This is the reason why he is not doing appearances on shows that are airing in the same time slot as the trio’s show.
Aster asked Ice if he will accept the offer to guest on the current Eat Bulaga show on GMA. The singer said that he will decline. “Hindi ko tatablahin ang TVJ,” he said, adding that this goes with other noontime shows.
Ice shared that he has a lot of friends in the Kapamilya noontime show but he would always say no when asked to be a guest on It’s Showtime.
“I’m friends with Showtime people, and when they would ask me, ‘Can you guest here?’ I would always say, ‘Pasensya na po,’” he shared. The singer said that this is even stated in his contracts that he will not appear on other noontime shows.
For Ice Seguerra, this is a “no brainer” and “second nature” to him to automatically refuse to appear on shows rival of TVJ’s show. He also stressed that he was not just a part of the show but he treated everyone like family. This choice is prompted by his personal relationship with the TVJ.
