2 Individuals Arrested in Tondo for Allegedly Selling Fake PWD IDs

Authorities Arrest 2 Individuals for Allegedly Selling Fake PWD IDs in Tondo, Manila

Two individuals were arrested in Tondo, Manila for allegedly producing and selling fake Persons With Disability (PWD) IDs.

The two suspects were identified as Ralph Lawrence Noblada and Liezel Lopez. They were apprehended through an entrapment operation conducted by the Manila Police District Special Mayor Reaction Team (MPD SMART).

Inside Lopez’s residence, authorities seized a computer and printer allegedly used in the production of counterfeit PWD IDs. The computer also contained templates of the IDs they were selling.

Fake PWD IDs

It was revealed that each fake PWD ID was priced at P1,500 and was available for anyone to purchase. The transactions were reportedly conducted online.

“Kung titignan niyo yung fake ID at iyon [totoo], almost the same. Hindi mo siya mapagkakamalang hindi totoo,” said Police Major Dave Garcia, head of MPD SMART.

Individuals with PWD IDs are entitled to discounts on food, medicine, and services. The two suspects did not provide any statements regarding the allegations.

The arrest of these individuals highlights the prevalence of illegal activities and the proliferation of counterfeit documents in society. The production and sale of fake PWD IDs not only undermines the integrity of the system but also deprives legitimate PWDs of the benefits and privileges they deserve.

Persons With Disability IDs serve as important documentation for individuals with disabilities, allowing them access to various benefits and accommodations. These IDs enable PWDs to avail themselves of discounts, special services, and facilities that cater to their specific needs.

By abusing the system and creating counterfeit IDs, unscrupulous individuals exploit the privileges intended for those who genuinely require them.
