9 Act as Policemen, Army Arrested at Checkpoint for Presenting Fake IDs

Authorities manning checkpoint arrested 9 men for pretending as policemen and army after they presented fake identification cards.

Nine males were apprehended at a checkpoint in San Jorge, Samar, for allegedly using fraudulent IDs and travel documents issued by Malacañang. The group’s weaponry and communication devices were also seized by the authorities.

The suspects were riding in two automobiles when they were stopped at a checkpoint in Barangay Poblacion 1, according to the report. They allegedly displayed a paper apparently from Malacaang claiming that they were allowed to go to Manila from Mindanao and returned when they were searched by the travel authority.

The men claimed to be affiliated with the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Religious Affairs (PARA). When the guys were asked for identification, they allegedly produced documents saying that they were Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Army officials.

Seven of the guys allegedly identified themselves as senior police and military authorities, according to the article. Due to the suspects’ suspicious behavior, their IDs were checked and verified at the main office.

The supposed government employee’s IDs were shown to be false after verification. The pretending suspects were arrested and had four.45 caliber firearms and ammunition, a bullet proof vest, and Philippine Army and PCG uniforms taken away by the authorities.
