Herlene Budol Apologized to Public Following Viral Miss Grand PH Q&A Answer
Comedian-beauty queen Herlene Budol apologized to the public after being criticized over her answer at Miss Gran Philippine Q&A.
Herlene apologized publicly on her social media site. This comes after she received a barrage of criticism from the online community for her response during the “Question & Answer” segment of the Miss of the preliminary competition on June 20, 2023.
The judge asked him: “Apart from your social media following, what else have you got in order to win the crown?”
“Thank you for that looong question for me… Charoz… I have a big followers because I have a big heart! O, English ‘yun, ha? Ano nga ulit ‘yung tanong?” said Herlene.
“What else do you think you have got in order to win this year?” said the judge. “What?” asked the beauty queen-actress again. “Ano pang meron ka maliban sa iyong social media following?” repetition of the jury which is already in the Filipino language.
“I think this is the right time. Last year siguro po hindi ko oras. Ang sabi nga ng adbokasiya ng Miss Grand is, ano ba ‘yun? World peace and… stop the war and peace… and since I was young (giggles) — ang sarap mag English — naranasan ko pong ma-bully sa eskwelahan, mabugbog sa tahanan, at dumayo sa ibang bansa bilang… ay! Dumayo sa ibang bansa, natutukan ng tatlong baril na talagang armalite at naging isang dayuhan. Para sa akin ang solid ng experience na ‘yun. Ayaw ko ma-experience ng iba yon!” she answered.
“Kaya bilang Miss Grand, sisimulan ko sa aking experience na ipalaganap sa ibang tao na huwag matakot. Kahit anong pinagdaanan ng mga tao na nakangiti, may katuturan ‘yun. At ikaw ang magiging lakas ng ibang tao upang… maging lakas. Hindi ko ma-explain eh… sana po nasagot ko,” she added.
Some have suggested that she change her strategy for Miss Grand Philippines 2023 in order to handle the issues that may arise as a result of her inappropriate jokes and repeated emphasis on being authentic to herself. As a result, Herlene apologized to the public on her Facebook post.
