Tito Sotto Speaks About Showtime Leaving TV5’s Noontime Slot

This is what Tito Sotto said about Showtime moving to GTV because of their new show.

TITO SOTTO – Its Showtime moves to GMA’s GTV and this is what Tito Sotto said as their new show replaces their slot.

ABS-CBN has issued an official statement about the move of Its Showtime to GMA’s GTV to pave the way for the new show of TVJ. They were offered an afternoon slot through a delayed telecast. However, they have respectfully declined.

They value their relationship with their audience in the noontime slot, thus, the refusal.

Despite this, people can still watch the show on A2Z, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC from Monday to Saturday. This will be effective starting July 1, 2023, Saturday.

In a previous article, there were rumors prior to this that TVJ’s new show will be replacing Showtime. Tito Sotto reacted to this and said, “Ang istasyon po ang bahala pagdating do’n sa airtime at sila na ang didiskarte kung papaano po ang gagawin. Hindi po kami nakikialam do’n sa parte na ‘yon.”

And now that the network is prioritizing TVJ’s new show, he spoke about it and denied that the Kapamilya noontime show was bumped off. He explained that it was not bumped off, it just so happened that their contract for the noontime slot will expire.

“With due respect to TV5, I don’t think the phrase bumped off should be used. Hindi naman sila na bumped off eh, natapos ang kontrata nila. So in fairness to TV5, walang naba-bumped off, natapos ang kontrata, yun ang pagkakaalam namin,” he said during the mediacon.

The President and CEO of Mediaquest also explained the situation. He echoed what Sotto said about the contract expiration and shared that they are co-owners and co-owners of TVJ Productions which makes them more invested in it.

“It just really makes sense through a business standpoint to put it in a timeslot that is best for it,” he said.
