Kris Aquino Reveals Bimby Fixing Relationship With James Yap

This is what Kris Aquino said about Bimby rebuilding his relationship with his father.

KRIS AQUINO – In a new post, Kris Aquino expressed how proud she is of her son for finally reaching out to his father.

Bimby Aquino-Yap is the son of Kris Aquino with professional basketball player James Yap. And it is not a secret the kid grew up without a father. Ever since Kris and James separated, Bimby stayed with Kris.

His relationship with his father is not quite smooth. They got their issues but one thing James would never forget to do is greeting him on his birthday.

Last 2021, in a previous article, Bimby revealed that his dad has never contacted him in years. However, not having a father growing up is not a problem for him as he has his “awesome mama” beside him.

“He has his own life, and I have my own life. We are not in contact,” he said and clarified that his mother is not preventing him from contacting him.

And recently, in a new post, Kris shared a piece of great news.

Bimby is now in the Philippines and after some time here, he took a big leap of faith to finally do the first step in contacting his father to rebuild their relationship. He has had his number to contact for a week and there was hesitation on his part but still did after a long time.

On Father’s Day, he finally got the courage to contact him and she is proud. As someone who grew up fatherless because of Martial Law, she doesn’t want his son to be subjected to the same fate.

“From the time Bimb was 8, he had the freedom to decide… now at 16 I told him- ‘when someone reaches out after 7 years, and there’s a chance for PEACE, then everyone WINS’,” she wrote.

She knows for a fact that it will take time for their relationship to be repaired but what matters most is it has already started.
