PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Monday (June 12, 2023)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon will bring wet and rainy weather over some parts of the country.

On Monday (June 12, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration releases the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that Severe Tropical Storm Chedeng exits the Philippine area of responsibility but will continue to bring occasional monsoon rains over western Luzon within the next few days.

“Sa kasalukuyan, patuloy ang pag-iral ng southwest monsoon o hanging habagat kaya ngayong araw, Araw ng Kalayaan, ay inaasahan pa din natin ang pag-ulan sa kanlurang bahagi ng Luzon at Visayas,”  weather specialist Obet Badrina.

Chedeng was last spotted 1,375 kilometers east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 135 kph.

The weather disturbance will enhance the southwest monsoon.

Habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Abra, Benguet, the rest of Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Occidental Mindoro and northern Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo Islands.

It will also bring monsoon rains over Ilocos region, Zambales and Bataan. The remaining parts of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

Sa iba pang bahagi ng ating bansa — sa Visayas at Mindanao at sa nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon — pwede namang makaranas ng isolated rain showers and thunderstorms,” Badrina added.
