New EB host Paolo Contis makes an appeal to the public.
PAOLO CONTIS – This is what Paolo Contis appealed to people who keep on bashing the EB staff and crew who did not resign.
The new hosts of Eat Bulaga included controversial Kapuso actor Paolo Contis. He is among the personalities who replaced the previous hosts including the pioneers of the show such as Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
On May 31, TVJ announced their departure and the other hosts of the noontime show followed. A big portion of the staff and crew also left.
After leaving TAPE, the former hosts of EB found a new home on TV5. But the battle is still far from being over. And the bashing continues for the new set of hosts and somehow, the staff and crew who did not resign got dragged in the bashing as well.
During the June 10 episode of the show, exactly a week after the new hosts were introduced, Contis made a lot of appeals to the public. One of his appeals is about the production staff and crew who did not resign.
According to him, they never left because of their families. They have people to feed which made them not afford to leave their jobs.
He expressed, “Ang Eat Bulaga! po, hindi lang po kami iyan. Hindi po mga artista iyan. Kasama po lahat ng nasa likod ng kamera para maitaguyod po namin yung programa para sa inyo.”
And it pains him to these people criticized for their choices when amid all these, they are the ones greatly affected. With this, he appealed to the public to bash him instead. He’s bashed for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and he would not mind it as long as these people would be untouched.
“So kami na lang, sanay na kami diyan. Sila po, ang staff, ang crew, sila po ang tunay na Eat Bulaga!” he said based on a report from PEP.
In the same narrative, he congratulated everyone in the show for a successful week amid the bashing and critical comments.
