Grade 12 Student After Surprised by Research Groupmates: “Super grateful po ako na na-appreciate po ako ng mga members ko”

Grade 12 student James Pangilinan expresses his heartfelt gratitude to his research groupmates after being pleasantly surprised when they included him in the dedication part of their research paper.

As the leader of their group in the subject of Research Project, James had various responsibilities, including proofreading their paper. During the time he was proofreading and finalizing the dedication part, he was taken aback by the overwhelming gratitude expressed by his groupmates.

“That time po na nagpr-proofread po ako ng papel namin, noong time po na naga-ayos na po ako ng dedication part, nagulat po ako kasi ang haba po ng pasasalamat ng mga ka-group ko sa akin and naiiyak po ako noong inaayos ko po yung dedication part kasi hindi ko po inaasahan na ma-appreciate po nang sobra as a leader when ang ginawa ko lang naman is yung duty ng isang leader which is ‘wag hayaang ma-left behind kahit ni-isang member,” James said.

In addition to this unexpected display of appreciation, James had another surprise in store for him from his groupmates.

After the defense, his groupmates surprised him with a cake and a Starbucks drink. He didn’t anticipate it because they all contributed to completing the paper, and everyone provided ideas for the defense scenario.

He simply focused on revising and proofreading the paper, as well as providing tips and advice to his fellow members for their upcoming defense.

James vividly recalls his reaction at that moment, “Yung reaction ko po that time is speechless then tumalon and sumigaw sa tuwa (kilala po kasi ako sa room as maingay HAHAHAHA). Super grateful po ako na na-appreciate po ako ng mga members ko. Thank you, Innovators of Egypt!”

James’ story serves as an inspiration to all leaders and team members, reminding them of the profound impact they can have on their peers through simple acts of support, guidance, and recognition.
