Eatery Owner Catches 2 Employees Stealing Meat From Establishment
A local eatery owner shares his disappointment after discovering that two of his employees were involved in pilfering ingredients from the establishment.
The incident occurred during a busy period when the owner was present in the store and witnessed the event unfold.
According to the eatery owner’s account to the Public Safety and Neighborhood Development (PSND), two employees colluded in the incident. One of them was a previous staff member who had returned, and the other was a friend of the returning employee who had recently been hired.
“Dalawa po ang magkasabwat sa insidente. ‘Yung isa previous staff ko na bumalik lang then nagsama siya ng kakilala niya na nag apply na tinanggap ko din. Kasama nila ako sa store that time. Madaming dine in kaya pumunta ako ng kitchen para tumulong. Yung isa nasa bodega nagtatadtad ng pangsisig,” the owner said.
The owner was present in the store at that time, as there were many dine-in customers, and he went to the kitchen to assist. Meanwhile, one of the employees went to the storeroom to cut up ingredients for a pork dish known as sisig.
Despite returning to the kitchen four times, the employee had not finished chopping the ingredients. Unbeknownst to the owner, another employee who resided on the premises became suspicious when he noticed that the bag seemed heavier or bulkier than usual.
When the employee returned to the kitchen and witnessed the situation, he promptly informed the eatery owner, who then inspected what the employees had taken.
The eatery owner expressed profound disappointment over the incident, particularly because the accused employees were hardworking and meticulous in their work. He admitted that he had hired them despite their questionable background because he felt pity for them, understanding their desperate need for employment to support their families.
