Maricel Soriano Does Not Mind If Young Actors Ignore Her
MARICEL SORIANO – Diamond Star Maricel Soriano said she does not mind if newbies ignore her.
Maricel Soriano got her start in the entertainment business as a child star. She eventually succeeded in making a reputation for herself as one of the top actors of her era.
Marya is still regarded as one of the industry’s top actresses. She is known for giving strong slaps in a number of TV episodes and films. Some of the younger stars would say that they desired a personal experience with Diamond Star’s infamous slap. Maricel previously declared that she doesn’t fear fading from prominence.
In a recent interview on the YouTube channel of comedian and talent manager Ogie Diaz, Maricel Soriano said that she does not mind getting ignored by young actors. She said she has never experienced this, but she witnessed a newbie actor pass a veteran actor.
The 58-year-old celebrity said she understands why veteran actors feel bad.
“Kami noon, pudpod yung lips namin sa kakahalik sa kanilang lahat. Kasi iyon ang training naming… Nakagisnan namin iyon, yung magbigay-pugay ka. Kaya kahit nasa dulo pa ng ano iyan, pupunta ako don saka sasabihan, ‘Tita, nandito na po ako,’ saka, ‘Ako po si Marya,’” she said.

Maricel Soriano said it will not be an issue if this happens to her. She said, “Sinabi ko sa sarili ko, ayokong ma-stress sa ganyan. Number one, hindi ko naman kayo kilala. Bakit ko naman i-stress-in ang sarili ko?
“Now, if you come to me and you tell me who you are, ganyan-ganyan, and then I will entertain you…
“But then, in the meantime, if you are not coming to me and say, ‘Hello,’ e di, wala ka rin mapapala sa aking, ‘Hi.’”
Maricel’s advice to veterans, “Wag mo nang dibdibin. Wag na. Hindi worth it. Mga bata iyang mga iyan, e. Hindi nila alam ang ginagawa nila.”
In Maricel’s experience, she is the one who always approaches and introduces herself when a newbie is not introduced to her.
