Becoming a “has-been” is not a problem for Maricel Soriano
Diamond Star Maricel Soriano said that she is not afraid to be a “laos” or a “has-been” in the entertainment industry.
Maricel started her career in showbiz as a child star. Eventually, she was able to establish her name as one of the prominent actresses of her generation. In her veteran years in the entertainment industry, she is still considered a premier actress.
She is also known for her impactful slaps in various TV series and movies. Younger artists would say that they want to experience the famous slap done by the one and only Diamond Star.
Despite the star status that she has achieved, Maricel can say that being “laos” eventually is not a big deal for her. Based on the article in Bandera, she has accepted the fact that her career will lead to that point.
Maricel Soriano shared that this is something that she learned from the veteran stars she worked with when she was younger. “Hindi (ako takot malaos). Kasi from the start, bata pa ako, alam ko na iyan. Sinabi na nila sa akin. Sabi nga nila, lahat ng bagay may katapusan. Kaya dapat laging handa. Dapat girl scout ka, laging handa,” the award-winning actress shared.
She added that just like life, one should also be ready when it comes to a career in showbiz. Maricel also pointed out to accept whatever the result of one’s venture in showbiz, whether this will lead to fame or an unsuccessful journey.
The Diamond Star also acknowledges the fact that new artists will keep on coming and time will come that the public will support these newbies. “Kung sumikat ka, tapos na ‘yung time mo, ibigay mo naman sa iba. Ganun talaga ‘yun eh. Natapos na ‘yung term mo, share it naman to others,” she said.
Meanwhile, Maricel Soriano is set to star in the upcoming Kapamilya series Linlang with Kim Chiu, Paolo Avelino, and JM de Guzman.
