PAGASA Says ITCZ to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH on Friday (May 19, 2023)
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring rains over some parts of the country.
On Friday (May 19, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting Mindanao. It will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and BARMM.
“Pinag-iingat ‘yung ating mga kababayan dito sa bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao sa mga banta ng mga pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa na dadalhin ng mga malalakas na mga pag-ulan dulot ng ITCZ,” Pagasa’s Patrick del Mundo said.
The ITCZ / Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition.
However, Visayas and Mindanao should take precautionary measure against flooding and landslides due to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
