It should be remembered that immigration authorities became notorious due to their dubious tactics of removing Filipinos who wished to leave the country. According to Malalad, immigration in the Philippines is so judgmental that they assume you will never return.

“It’s so stressful traveling alone for vacation. Sa immigration ang daming tanong na prang assume nila hindi ka na babalik ng Pilipinas,” Malalad said.

“Ikukwento mo buong life story mo. I just experienced this in T1. Hay naku Pilipinas ang hirap mong mahalin,” she added.

She then compared the immigration process in Paris, where she was easily accepted by the officials. When she arrived, the immigration officer scanned her documents and let her through without question.

“Just arrived in Paris and wala p ako 30 secs sa immigration. Scan and tatak! Sa atin lng napka judgemental eh,” she said.

Her tweet went popular on social media and elicited a variety of responses from the online community. Some netizens in the Philippines also expressed their displeasure with immigration officers.

immigration officers should undergo psychological test / evaluation to determine their attitude towards a traveler.
