A Manila-based delivery rider is receiving praise on social media after being treated kindly by a restaurant in Mandaluyong City.

A post by Facebook user Jab Escutin, who was dining with his family at Texas Roadhouse Grill in Shangrila Mall on May 3, has gone viral, featuring a delivery rider being given complimentary bread and drinks and a place to sit while waiting for his order.

Escutin shared that it was his first time witnessing such an act of kindness towards a delivery rider. He took to Facebook to share his experience, which quickly went viral.

After the rider left, Escutin asked the waitress why they treated him so well. The waitress replied, “Sabi sa’min, ‘kasi napapagod din naman sila, and paano kung kamag-anak namin ‘yan na nagtatrabaho din pero di binibigyan ng maayos na serbisyo para makapaghinga man lang sa buong araw. Kung tutuusin customer din namin sila’,”

Escutin made sure to let the staff at the restaurant know how much he appreciated their kind treatment of the delivery rider, hoping to encourage them to continue doing good deeds for others. He also encouraged others to show appreciation when they see such acts of kindness, in order to motivate those who do good deeds to continue doing so.

The post has garnered over 30k reactions, 185 comments, and 7.2k shares as of now, with many people commending Texas Roadhouse for recognizing the hard work of delivery riders. This act of kindness serves as a reminder to treat everyone with respect and kindness, regardless of their profession or status.

Shoutout sa Texas Roadhouse Shangri-La Plaza Branch! Nung me Grab Delivery Rider na dumating pinaupo nila sa table tapos binigyan nila ng drinks tsaka complimentary bread habang inaantay niya mahanda yung order na idedeliver niya. Siguro meron din ibang resto na maayos ang trato sa Grab/ Delivery Riders pero first time ko talaga nakita na ganito and nakakataba ng puso makita na maayos trato sa kanila dito.

After umalis nung rider nagtanong ako sa waitress kung bakit ganun ang sabi samin kasi napapagod din naman sila and pano kung kamaganak namin yan na nagtatrabaho din pero di binibigyan ng maayos na serbisyo para makapahinga man lang sa buong araw. “Kung tutuusin custmore din namin sila.”

Sinigurado ko na alam nilang natuwa ako sa ginagawa nila para lalo pa sila ganahan ituloy ang ganun. Kaya pag me nakita din kayo magandang asal sana ipakita niyo na natutuwa kayo para lalo ganahan yung mga ganito sa pagtulong or maayos na serbisyo sa kapwa manggagawa.”
