John Estrada Shares Why Villain Portrayal Gets Bashed

John Estrada Says Actors Getting Bashed Is Proof of Effectiveness

JOHN ESTRADA – Kapamilya actor John Estrada said celebrities are bashed by the public because of the roles they portray.

Actors get paid a lot of money when some viewers can’t tell the difference between fiction and reality. There are some actors who experienced harassment and threats on a regular basis as a result of their work on television.

Sometimes appearances are deceptive. The same was true of a few actors who, in spite of initial criticism, astounded the audience with their acting prowess.

John Estrada recently expressed his thoughts on the criticism that actors receive from the public due to the roles they play. Fans have taken offense at John’s portrayal of the character Rigor Dimaguiba in Coco Martin’s new series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo“, calling Rigor “violent and lacking compassion.”

John Estrada was asked about the criticism he had received because of his portrayal during a press conference for “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” yesterday at the Luxent Hotel.

“Dahil artista kami, if you’re called for that kind of role and maraming nag-react, nagalit, that means you’re effective as an actor,” he explained.

The 49-year-old actor claimed he thrives at playing Rigor because he gets to work opposite Coco Martin and expressed his hope that he will not be typecast into similar roles in the future.

“I’m not gonna be plastic in saying na gagawin ko ‘to para sa lahat ng bida ko,” continued Estrada as he cited his years in the showbusiness. “I think I have the right also to choose kung sino pagko-kontrabidahan ko.”

John Estrada also expressed his support for Coco Martin’s creative vision, who not only serves as the show’s star but also its director, writer, and producer.

“Sabi nga ni Coco sa amin, ‘Dito Kuya John, lahat ng character dito — kontrabida man o bida — may puso,’ and totoo ‘yun,” Estrada said as he reiterated his trust in Martin.

John declared that he and the rest of the cast would be eager to collaborate with Martin on future projects.
