Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Davao Occidental, May 4, 2023
EARTHQUAKE TODAY – The Phivolcs recorded a 3.6 magnitude quake in Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental today, Thursday, May 4, 2023.
Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted a part of Davao Occidental a few weeks ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Davao Occidental. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 3.6.
The earthquake that struck Davao Occidental, today, Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 01:27 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Jose Abad Santos.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Davao Occidental was located at 05.67°North, 126.19°East – 066 km South 66° East of Jose Abad Santos. It had a depth of focus of 038 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording bureau, no intensity was felt and recorded of the said quake at the epicenter of the tremor as well as the nearby areas.
