2 Wanted Korean Nationals to be Deported After Being Arrested in Cavite
Personnel of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested two (2) wanted Korean nationals and will deport them from the country.
The BI will deport two wanted Koreans who were recently apprehended in Cavite. According to BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco, Bae Byungchan, 37, and Kim Ji Yong, 35, would be deported to their home country.
He said that Bae was involved in a fraud case and was a member of a South Korean voice phishing syndicate that robbed its victims of 60 million won ($195,000). The victims were allegedly misled into providing their money after the syndicate members misrepresented themselves as financial lenders.
Kim is charged with drunk driving and forgery of a private document, therefore the Jeonju district court issued an arrest order for him. On April 25, they were detained together in Imus, Cavite. They are both being held at the BI Warden Facility in Taguig City’s Camp Bagong Diwa awaiting deportation proceedings.
Based on the report, they will be deported to Korea as soon as the board of commissioners issues a summary deportation order. According to the BI official, they will also be placed on a blacklist and barred from reentering the nation.
