A teacher in Valenzuela City, Philippines is gaining widespread attention for her kind gesture towards her students.
Arlene Rodriguez, a Grade 9 AP teacher from Bagbaguin National High School, decided to treat her students to iced coffee and milk tea during an exam in an effort to help alleviate the heat and discomfort they were experiencing due to the weather.
Ma’am Arlene, as she is affectionately known by her students, posted about her treat on Facebook, and her post quickly went viral, garnering praise and admiration from netizens who were touched by her thoughtfulness.
In an interview, Ma’am Arlene shared that she treats her advisory class every quarterly exam, giving them a special treat like a parent would to their own children. She also left a message for her advisory class, which she named after William Shakespeare.
“Gaya po ng palagi ko pong sinasabi sa kanila na, always trust themselves, and give their best because I always have their back!” teacher Arlene said.
