LTO in Isabela Earns Mix Reactions after LGBTQ was Included in Their Priority Lane
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) branch in Isabela including LGBTQ members in their priority lane elicits reactions from netizens.
A concerned Facebook user recently offered excellent news for members of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer (LGBTQ) community. Jefferson Cortez, Chief of Staff of Ateneo de Naga University Supreme Student Government, shared a photo of LGBTQ students in the government establishment’s priority lane.
Cortez, who is also an LGBTQ member, demonstrated that, in addition to Senior Citizens, Pregnant Women, and Persons with Disabilities, LGBTQ members were given preferential access to the LTO San Isidro District Office in Isabela. Cortez thought the LTO office’s choice was admirable among LGBTQ people.
“Mga accla, we are winning, priority na tayo,” Cortez said in his post.
The photo quickly went viral on social media, eliciting different reactions even from members of the LGBTQ community. Although the snapshot appears to be excellent news to some members, it is not well received by others.
According to some netizens, the mentioned LTO office’s action may have a negative impact on their community. They lamented that it is unfair to others unless they are pregnant or people with disabilities.
