In an interview, Romnick Sarmenta shares his thoughts about the industry.
ROMNICK SARMENTA – Seasoned actor Romnick Sarmenta speaks about how the industry evolved having been a part of this for 46 years.
Romeo Nicolas Sarmenta Tejedor or Romnick Sarmenta is among the most well-loved veteran actors in the industry. He started young and was a part of the iconic youth-variety show back then called That’s Entertainment.
He was previously married to Harlene Bautista but their marriage did not work. They have five children. His partner now is Barbara Ruaro and they have one child.
And just recently, in an interview with Luis Manzano, he shared that he has been in the industry for 46 years and for this long time, he shared some of the changes and evolutions he has noticed.
According to him, the production and shooting before were very simple. They can work the usual hour and there’s no need for the “puyatan” but as he gets older and reached the “awkward age”, the “puyatan” slowly started.
The production of the project also started to change.
Before, the setting and shots were not complicated unlike now. With the advancement of technology, shooting became more critical and the scenes being executed are becoming more complicated.
When it comes to the artists, he shared, “I would always echo what others would say about veterans. Iba yung disiplina, iba yung pagmamahal sa trabaho, yung craft, iba yung dedication nila. Iba rin yung tingin nila sa sarili nila, yung respeto sa sarili nila na I think people should emulate.”
According to him, the veterans are models when it comes to professionalism as they don’t have to sell out and they don’t have to compromise.
