Some LGUs Declare Class Suspensions for Tuesday (April 11, 2023) Due to Tropical Depression Amang

WALANG PASOK – Several local government units declared class suspensions for Tuesday (April 11, 2023) due to Tropical Depression Amang.

Earlier, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that a low-pressure area developed into Tropical Depression Amang. It was last located at 475 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.

The tropical depression has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kph. Amang is moving west northwest at 20 kilometers per hour.

PAGASA

PAGASA announced that Amang is the first tropical cyclone for 2023 in the Philippines. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 has been raised over Catanduanes, northern portion of Eastern Samar, eastern portion of Northern Samar.

On Tuesday morning (April 11, 2023), as Tropical Depression Amang makes its way towards the region, authorities have announced class cancellations in anticipation of the potential impact of the weather disturbance.
