Boracay Delicacy Vendor Seeks Help After Goods Were Confiscated by Auxiliary Police Over Violation
A delicacy vendor in Boracay is asking for forgiveness and assistance after her products were confiscated by auxiliary police.
On July 21, 2026, the vendor identified as Marites Colindres gained attention online after details of her situation spread on social media. According to Colindres, this was not the first time she had been warned for selling goods in a prohibited area along the island’s famous front beach.
Colindres admitted that her permit had already expired. She explained that she did not have enough money to renew it, making it difficult for her to continue operating legally. However, she denied allegations that her documents were fake and maintained that she obtained and paid for them through proper channels in Malay.
The delicacy vendor shared that she earns around P1,500 on a good day. According to her, the amount is often just enough to cover transportation costs, daily meals, and the ingredients needed for her delicacies.
The seller relies on every sale to keep her business running and provide for her family. She revealed that she was especially determined to sell her products because she needed money for her children’s school examinations.
Unfortunately, her goods were confiscated, and she was reportedly not given another chance because she had already received citation tickets in the past for similar violations.
The woman now faces a P3,000 fine and still owes money to the supplier of her products. She also said that some of her children were unable to take their examinations due to financial difficulties.

The vendor has appealed to the mayor of Malay for understanding and another opportunity to earn a living. She explained that her family depends heavily on her income because her husband does not have regular employment.
Together, they support six children, including three in college, two in high school, and one in elementary school.
