Remulla Says More Cases To Be Filed Against Cong. Arnie Teves

Justice Secretary Remulla Speaks on Charges Vs. Cong. Arnie Teves

REMULLA – The Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary said that more cases will be filed against Negros Oriental Representative Arnie Teves.

The authorities earlier said that several suspects in the killing of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo pinned down Cong. Arnie Teves as the alleged mastermind behind the plot. The lawmaker has yet to return to the Philippines over concerns for his safety.

Last March 4, men wearing pixelated uniforms barged in the gate of the Degamo compound in Pamplona. The attack left the Governor, his ally, and several civilians dead.

Prior to being accused by one of the suspects as the alleged mastermind behind the plot, Cong. Arnie Teves released a video where he claimed that he received an information that he will be pinned down in the case of his political rival. Gov. Roel Degamo unseated Teves’ younger brother, Pryde Henry Teves.

The travel clearance of Cong. Arnie Teves expired last March 9 but he refused to go home to the Philippines. According to him, he is willing to face the accusations but he is concerned about his safety. He stressed that both he and Degamo are victims in what is happening as he maintained his innocence amid the allegations.

However, as per Justice Secretary Boying Remulla, Cong. Arnie Teves appears as the main mastermind behind the killing of Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo. He earlier said that 7-8 suspects allehedly pointed to the Congressman.

Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, Justice Secretary Boying Remulla said that more cases are eyed to be filed against Cong. Arnie Teves. He stressed that it will make the world “very small” for the lawmaker.

“We will do what can be done with we have and the information that we have, the evidence the we have. There are cases that we will file that are not yet in the menu of cases that have been filed,” the DOJ Chief said.
