Paul Soriano Defended By Reporters Against “Nagwala” Accusation

A different story was released about the alleged commotion caused by Paul Soriano

Director Paul Soriano, who is also the Presidential Adviser on Creative Communications, was defended by reporters against “nagwala” accusation.

Rumor has it that Direk Paul created a “scene” after the press conference for Hollywood actress Vanessa Hudgens for being the Philippines’ Global Tourism Ambassador. It was said that the award-winning director did not like that there was a one-on-one interview after the presscon.

Allegedly, Direk Paul got angry and a commotion happened but after the scene he did, his wife actress-host Toni Gonzaga interviewed Vanessa Hudgens.

An article by The Philippine Star reporter Deni Rose M. Afinidad-Bernardo refuted the accusation against the filmmaker. She said that one of Philstar’s reporters was present during the presscon and attested that Direk Paul Soriano did not maltreat anyone.

Bernardo also said that they interviewed the director several times and nothing like this happened. A reporter also told Philstar that the director was arguing with staff and not the press people. “But Paul never raised his voice. Hindi n’ya rin kami pinalayas,” the reporter stressed.

A member of Direk Paul’s staff clarified that he is aware that there will be a one-on-one interview after the presscon but he ordered to cut it short because he had to shoot more for the documentary with Vanessa Hudgens.

Another reporter confirmed that the interviews were indeed cut and because of this, a prominent TV host was not able to finish the questions. Direk Paul Soriano’s staff was also asked why no food was served to reporters. The staff said that the director is not at fault in this matter and this had nothing to do with the alleged commotion.

After the shortened interviews, it was said that reporters heard Vanessa singing the song Dahil Sa’yo which is said to be included in the documentary.

A reporter also shared that a staff member said that the interviews were cut short to give way to Toni Gonzaga. Amid this, reporters commended Vanessa Hudgens for staying calm and composed.
