Padilla to Bato if ICC Arrest Him: “Sasamahan ko, sanay na tayu sa kulungan”

Senator Robin Padilla to Go With Senator Bato if ICC Would Arrest Him

Senator Robinhood “Robin” Padilla said that he wants to go with Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa if International Criminal Court (ICC) would arrest him.

Padilla stated that if his ally Senator is detained by the ICC, he will accompany him to jail. According to him, he should be included in the arrest because he also supported former President Rodrigo Duterte’s drug war.

“Kung huhulihin nila si Bato isama niyo na ako dahil ako isa ako sa sumuporta kay Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte diyan sa drug war,” Padilla insisted in the interview.

“Walang iwanan nga e. Sasamahan ko sila kung saan sila, tutal sanay naman tayo sa kulungan. Sa abroad pa, naku masarap pagkain doon. Okay ‘yon,” said Padilla, a former person deprived of liberty.

The lawmaker revealed this when he expressed his confidence that Senator Francis Tolentino will recover from being Dela Rosa’s legal counsel. This Wednesday, Tolentino announced that he accepted Dela Rosa’s request to be his legal counsel in all proceedings related to the ICC investigation into the Duterte administration’s drug war.

Meanwhile, Duterte said in his speech at the 32nd national convention of the Prosecutors’ League of the Philippines this Wednesday that he does not care about the ICC. He revealed that he will accept if he will be jailed for his advocacy.

The former President insisted that he will stake his “name, my honor and my presidency” in the fight against illegal drugs and criminality during his six-year term. He said that it is a matter of principle for him and will die for it.

During his six-year reign, the former President insisted on putting his “name, honor, and presidency” on the line in the fight against illegal narcotics and criminality. He stated that it is a question of principle for him and that he is willing to die for it.

“Dito sa droga, sa criminality, just like Davao, it is a matter of principle for me. And I will die for it. If I rot in prison, so be it,” he said.
