PBBM Promised Bato: “Kahit isang hibla ng buhok mo di mahahawakan ng ICC”

Senator Bato Dela Rosa Shared What PBBM Promised to Him

Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa shared what President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr (PBBM) promised to him amid the issue with ICC.

The Senator stated that the then-presidential candidate told him that the International Criminal Court (ICC) would not be able to move a single strand of his hair. Marcos promised this when Dela Rosa represented then-vice-presidential bet Sara Duterte at one of the national and local election campaign events in 2022.

“During the campaign, nag-usap kami—nu’ng tumatakbo pa lang siya at ako’y nagre-represent kay Mayor Inday Sara… Ang sabi niya ‘Kahit isang buhok mo hindi mahahawakan ng ICC’ kahit na wala akong buhok ha,” Dela Rosa shared in an online interview.

The senator stated that he not only took this as a personal vow but also as a commitment to the country that the President will fight for the Philippines’ sovereignty. Malacanang, on the other hand, has received no corroboration of Dela Rosa’s claims.

“Not only a promise for me personally, but a promise to the country, for the nation na dedepensahan talaga niya ang soberanya ng ating bansa at hindi siya basta basta magpapabully diyan sa mga entities na ‘yan like ICC,” he said.

Dela Rosa, who previously called himself the “second accused” in the ICC’s drug war investigation. Based on the report, he was the first Philippine National Police chief appointed by former President Rodrigo Duterte.

The International Criminal Court has denied the Philippine government’s request to halt the probe into the controversial Duterte administration’s drug campaign. Marcos has stated that the Philippines “will be disengaging from any contact, communication with the ICC.”
