Andrea Brillantes answered the negative comment that her promposal received
Kapamilya actress Andrea Brillantes reacted to “babae ang nagyaya” comment from a netizen because of the promposal she did for her boyfriend actor-basketball player Ricci Rivero.
Andrea was put under the spotlight during the Blackpink concert at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on March 26. It was because of her proposal to Ricci to go with her to Star Magic Ball on March 30.
The members of the famous K-Pop group read her banner and cameras were directed at her and her boyfriend. It can be heard in the videos taken during that time that the crowd was cheering for them.
However, there were netizens who expressed negative reactions and accused Andrea Torres and Ricci Rivero of trying to get the attention of the crowd when the event was supposed to be for Blackpink.
Andrea was defended by her sister amid the bashing. Ricci also rallied behind his girlfriend. Based on the article in PEP, the actress addressed one negative comment from a netizen.
The said netizen pointed out that in this situation, the girl was the one who proposed which is unusual for many, especially in Filipino culture. “Baliktad na pla ngayon panahon. Babae na nagyaya [face with tears of joy emoji],” the netizen commented.
Andrea explained that since it was for the Star Magic Ball and she is under the talent management company of the Kapamilya network, so, she was the one who made the proposal.
“Also, it’s high time we stop shaming girls for making the first move even on other instances [raising both hands in celebration emoji],” the actress added.
As of this writing, the negative comment from a netizen on Andrea Brillantes’s post is already deleted. However, social media personality Senyora was able to take a screenshot of this.
