Speaker Romualdez Advices Teves to Return to the Country Over Charges
Ferdinand Martin Romualdez urges Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves to return to the Philippines to face the cases against him.
Negros Oriental 3rd district Rep was advised by Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez to return to the Philippines as soon as possible to face the allegations leveled against him. According to Romualdez, Teves’s travel authorization for his journey to the United States is only valid from February 28 to March 9, 2023.
“I advise Rep. Arnie Teves to come back to the country as soon as possible,” Romualdez said in a statement.
“Clearly, the TA of Rep. Teves has expired effective today. His travel outside the country beyond the period mentioned is no longer authorized by the House of Representatives,” Romualdez pointed out.
Romualdez stated that Cong should also return home. Arnie must deal with their family’s complicity in the death of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo. Based on the report, everyone, according to the Speaker, wants to hear Teves’ side, who is a known political opponent of Degamo.
“We all want to hear his side of the story. Maraming buhay ang nawala maliban kay Gov. Degamo. Umamin na ang mga nahuling salarin sa partisipasyon nila sa krimen. Hindi titigil ang pamahalaan para kilalanin at papanagutin ang mga nasa likod ng brutal na krimeng ito,” added Romualdez.
