BI Arrest 6 Foreigners Over Fake Travel Documents at NAIA
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested six (6) foreigners at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) over fake travel documents.
When attempting to flee the country, four foreigners with doubtful passports were apprehended by BI officials. Foreign passengers were apprehended by BI officers at the NAIA on separate occasions, according to Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco.
The foreigners are now being held at the BI detention camp in Taguig City’s Camp Bagong Diwa. Following that, the BI head stated that they will be placed on our immigration blacklist to prevent them from re-entering the nation.
Based on the report, Harpreet Singh Ahitan, 32, an Indian national, was detained on February 3 for possessing a forged immigration visa extension in his passport prior to boarding an Air Asia trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
After that, on February 6, Zhang Yang, 30, a Chinese national who attempted to board a Philippine Airlines flight to Bangkok but was discovered to be in possession of a fraudulent Philippine visa, was detained. Maleet Singh, a 42-year-old Indian national, was denied boarding on a Thai Airlines trip to Singapore because the immigration arrival stamp in his passport was forged.
Lee Jihun, 38, a Korean national, was detained on February 8 after learning that he was wanted in Korea for electronic financial fraud. He was detained because he was unwelcome and undocumented. The BI also captured two foreigners who were illegally entering the country.
Lin Chia Hao, 29, a Taiwanese national, was arrested on February 8 after boarding a Saudia flight from Jeddah with a bogus Philippine visa in his passport. Kang Juchun, 38, a South Korean national, was detained on February 10 on suspicion of murder and abandonment of the victim.
