Claudine Barretto talked about the one and only Star for all Seasons
Optimum Star Claudine Barretto shared that she was saved twice by Star for all Seasons Vilma Santos.
Claudine and Vilma are considered among the big actresses of their respective generations. When they did the movie Anak, this delighted their fans so much. Both of them showed their superb acting caliber.
Just recently, the Anim na Dekada… Nag-iisang Vilma was released and this is in line with Ate Vi’s 60th showbiz anniversary celebration. One of the celebrities who paid tribute to the veteran actress was Claudine.
The Optimum Star, based on the article in Abante, shared the importance of having Vilma Santos in her life. “Twice in my life, Ate Vi saved me. I will forever be grateful kasi there were times na I was really down and siya ‘yung unang tumatawag, siya ‘yung nagre-reach out, siya lang ‘yung nakakaintindi,” Claudine Barretto shared with teary-eyes.
She added that because of what Ate Vi did to her, her children still have her. Claudine also shared the experience she had working with the veteran actress in the movie Anak which was released in 2000.
The Optimum Star admitted that the confrontation scene between her and Ate Vi was so challenging. “My main concern was how will I fight back? Paano ako lalaban sa idol ko? Syempre pag idol mo, ayaw mo masaktan tapos biglang kailangan itulak mo,” she said.
Vilma Santos recalled that Claudine Barretto was afraid to hit her during that scene because their characters were fighting. The Star for all Seasons also lauded the younger actress for her portrayal of her role in the said movie.
