A generous lady has gone viral and earned praise online for always treating her ‘batang kapitbahays’ to meals at an expensive restaurant.
Edlyne Mae Lorenzana, a TikTok user known as ‘edlynelorenzana’, shared a video of herself treating her two young neighbors, which quickly spread online and garnered various reactions from internet users.
In the video, the kind-hearted woman brought her ‘batang kapitbahays’ to enjoy good food, aiming to show them how great life can be if they were more privileged and to provide them with a positive experience.”
“Always treating my batang kapitbahays sa mamahaling kainan to show them how great life is if you’re privileged, this is also my way of teaching them to be eager sap ag achieve ng dreams nila. Para as early as possible, matuto silang mangarap ng mataas kasi napakalawak ng mundong ginagalawan nila,” she wrote in the caption.
Edlyne asked for permission from the parents of the young children and they granted her request. The parents of the youngsters expressed their gratitude to Lorenzana for her kindness and generosity.
“Na-shookt talaga ako kasi may isang parent na pinayagan agad yung anak niya and after nun, sabi sakin ng papa niya ‘Thank you ha, dahil sayo nakakagala yung nga bata. Maraming salamat, kami kasi hindi naman namin sila kayang dalhin sa mga ganyang lugar’ and grabe super natouch ako dun!! Kilala ko na rin parents and guardians nila hehehe kaya kahit papano, kampante sila pag kami kasama ng mga anak nila,” Lorenzana said.

The kind woman revealed that she was used to handling adult responsibilities at a young age because her parents were OFWs.
“Maaga kasi akong namulat sa adulting responsibilities. 16 years old palang ako, ako na ‘yung nagbbudget sa pera namin kasi nasa abroad parents ko. […] and I saw the advantage of it habang tumatanda ako,” she added.
