Michelle Dee On Joining Miss Universe Philippines Again
MICHELLE DEE – Kapuso actress Michelle Dee talked about joining Miss Universe Philippines again.
Michelle won the Miss World Philippines in 2019. In 2022, she joined the Miss Universe Philippines and was named Miss Universe Philippines Tourism or 1st runner-up. She was second to the winner Filipina-Italian beauty queen and model Celeste Cortesi.
“Miss Universe contestants must be between the ages of 18 and 27 as of Jan. 1 in the year of they compete” is one of the policies of the Miss Universe Organization.
Currently, Kapuso star Michelle Dee is 27 years old so this is the last time she will participate in Miss Universe Philippines. Michelle plays the character of Freya in Mga Lihim ni Urduja, the primetime drama series of GMA-7 that will air starting February 27, 2023.
In the press conference held this Wednesday afternoon, February 15, the actress shared the reasons for her decision to try her luck again at Miss Universe Philippines.

It was Valentine’s Day, February 14, when Michelle Dee filed an application for Miss Universe 2023. She said this was her Valentine’s gift to her supporters.
“Ako po ay muling nag-apply sa Miss Universe Philippines 2023.
“So, kinukuha ko na rin po ang pagkakataon to thank GMA-7 for always supporting me and my dreams and for always giving me opportunities like Urduja.
“Yun po ang Happy Valentine’s ko.”
In an interview with PEP, on Monday night, February 13, Celeste Cortesi expressed her support for Michelle’s re-participation in Miss Universe Philippines. Michelle mentioned in the press conference of Mga Lihim ni Urduja that Celeste has known for a long time that she intends to participate in the beauty pageant that will send the representative of the Philippines to the 72nd Miss Universe, which will be held in El Salvador in December 2023.
“Nag-apply ako ulit. Alam din naman po ni Celeste last year pa na may balak po akong sumali ulit this year…”
“And for me, it’s really about not having regrets in life ‘coz last chance ko na this year. And it’s the kind of example na I wanna show my supporters na just keep fighting until wala ka nang maibigay or hindi mo na kayang gawin,” she added.
