According to the mayor of Quezon City, they have met and are working with city agencies and stakeholders. This includes the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), the Social Services and Development Department, the Schools Division Office, and a number of other organizations.

“While we consider this an isolated case, the incident underscores the need to come up with additional security interventions in our public learning institutions,” the mayor said in a statement.

Some of the steps that will be taken, according to Belmonte, include the installation of CCTV cameras in schools and random security checks. Aside from that, “values formation programs” will be implemented, as well as more guidance counselors, based on the report.

Rape and theft are also common among children, according to the QCPD, with the majority of them being between the ages of 15 and 17. According to the Department of Education-National Capital Region (DepEd-NCR), debriefing sessions will be held for teachers and students who observed the complex events in Culiat.

“DepEd-NCR joins school administrators, teachers, non-teaching personnel, parents, students, and all stakeholders to work together in raising and educating children to become peace-loving and responsible members of the community,” the agency said.
