Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Quezon, January 26, 2023
EARTHQUAKE TODAY – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.3 magnitude quake in Quezon today, Thursday, January 26, 2023.
Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted a part of Davao Occidental a few days ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Quezon. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 4.3.
The earthquake that struck Quezon today, January 26, 2023, at 12:27 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Patnanungan.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Quezon was located at 15.13°North, 122.32°East – 043 km North 15° East of Patnanungan with a depth of focus of 032 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. Based on the record released, no intensity was felt of the said quake but instrumental intensity II was recorded in Pascao, Camarines Sur and Polillo, Quezon.
