Toni Gonzaga is indeed unbothered by all the controversies
Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga went through these controversies in the past two decades of her career in the entertainment industry.
Toni has come a long way since she started appearing in a soft drink commercial that opened the doors of show business to her. From that, she soared as an actress, TV host, and recording artist.
That 20 years were not always a smooth sailing journey as issues were being thrown at her. Based on the article in PEP, last year, several issues were raised against Toni, especially when she showed her political affiliation.
She was bashed for campaigning for the Uniteam and even led rallies in different areas of the Philippines. This all started when she interviewed President Rodrigo Duterte on her YouTube channel before the election season started.
Eventually, she became the host of the Uniteam campaign rallies. It was a trending topic also when she announced her resignation as the main host of Pinoy Big Brother. Prior to this, she was criticized for her “lukewarm” support for ABS-CBN when it was no longer allowed to renew its franchise.
Last year, Toni Gonzaga officially transferred to ALLTV and now she has her own talk show TONI. It was speculated that she received a big sum of money for her talent fee from her new home network.
“Ahh, mga tsismis. I think siguro, normal yun na when you make a big decision, when you move to a network, when you sign a contract to a new family, maraming speculations about yung mga ganyan,” Toni said in a statement debunking the speculations about her talent fee.
Her Shopee endorsement also went controversial as netizens expressed that they will no longer use the online shopping app because of her.
In 2022, Toni also had a controversial Metro Manila Film Festival entry My Teacher with Joey de Leon. Many netizens bashed her for playing the role of a teacher in the movie while some accused her movie of forcing students to watch.
The recent controversy that involved her name was her 20th-anniversary concert at the Araneta Coliseum. There was an issue with the ticket sales and after the concert, negative reactions were expressed about her performance.
Amid these issues, as well as rumors about her “bad attitude” toward people working behind the camera, Toni Gonzaga remained unbothered.
