MISS UNIVERSE – Organization owner Anne Jakrajutatip speaks about Celeste Cortesi not making a place in the recent edition of the competition.
R’Bonney Gabriel is Miss Universe 2022. She is a Fil-Am fashion designer and throughout the pageant, she’s always been proud of her Filipino roots. The 71st edition of the pageant was held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 14, 2023.
Landing first and second runners-up are Amanda Dudamel from Venezuela and Andreina Martinez from the Dominican Republic, respectively. Gabriel follows the line of MU queens Olivia Culpo, Brook Lee, Chelsi Smith, Shawn Weatherly, Sylvia Hitchcock, Linda Bement, Carol Morris, and Miriam Stevenson
PH bet is Celeste Cortesi and her non-inclusion in the Top 16, an unexpected ‘El Tocuyo’, has broken the semi-finals win streak of the country. This is heartbreaking but it never did make the people feel proud of her any less.
Pageant experts expressed that the closed-door preliminaries surely had something to do with the results.
And among those who are “surprised but not shocked” over PH’s non-inclusion to the semi-finals is Anne Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip.
Anne expressed that she was also surprised both by the Philippines and Thailand and other countries like Cambodia, Mexico, and Indonesia.
“I counted myself, like 15, all 20 of them that used to be in the poll internationally, everyone just ripped off the poll. Like, ‘Oh my goodness, everything just went upside down.’ So you wouldn’t know,” she said based on the vlog of Filipino businesswoman Olivia Quido.
She might be surprised by she’s not surprised of the high standard and benchmark of the judges. This made her think that there was a good curriculum for having the organization under her ownership.
In a previous article, she denied being biased and rigged.
