Miss Universe Owner Anne Jakrajutatip Accused Of Rigging Pageant For R’Bonney Gabriel
ANNE JAKRAJUTATIP – The new owner of the Miss Universe organization, Anne Jakrajutatip was accused of favoritism and rigging the pageant for Miss USA R’Bonney Gabriel.
Just a few days after the Miss Universe finals night, Anne Jakrajutatip, the Thai business tycoon who owns the Miss Universe Organization (MUO), clarified that contestants were fairly judged based on their individual merits during the pageant’s 71st edition.
Miss Universe 2022 is Filipina-American R’Bonney Gabriel of the United States. Amanda Dudamel of Venezuela was named first runner-up, and Andrena Martnez was named second runner-up. Philippines’ bet Celeste Cortesi was unable to make it past the Top 16 semifinals on January 14 (Sunday, January 15 in Manila), which took place in New Orleans, Louisiana.
After the Miss Universe 2022 pageant, Anne Jakrajutatip came under fire from pageant fans for allegedly rigging the results in R’Bonney Gabriel’s favor and eliminating front-runners from the semifinal and final rounds.
Gabriel follows Olivia Culpo, Brook Lee, Chelsi Smith, Shawn Weatherly, Sylvia Hitchcock, Linda Bement, Carol Morris, and Miriam Stevenson as the ninth American to be crowned Miss Universe.

In a post on her Instagram account last Tuesday, January 17, the Thai transgender business mogul made it clear that the 71st Miss Universe contest was “fair and equitable” on her personal Instagram account.
“The rules and judges were fair and equitable. Each Miss Universe contestant was measured on her own merits in the competition. Not everyone can win the competition but everyone gets an equal chance of winning,” she said.
