Walang Pasok – Some LGUs Declare Class Suspensions in the Following Areas

WALANG PASOK – Several local government units have declared class suspensions in some areas due to inclement weather condition.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that two low-pressure areas have entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility. The weather systems will bring rainy weather condition over parts of the country.

Two LPAs have a slim chance of developing into tropical cyclones. The first LPA has been last spotted at 290 kilometers east of Maasin City, Southern Leyte while the second one has been located at 125 kilometers west-northwest of Puerto Princesa City.

Class Suspensions

The LPA together with northeast monsoon and shearline have been lashing the country with heavy rains and strong winds over past few days. The inclement weather condition causes inconvenience to most Filipinos.

On Tuesday (January 17, 2023), various local government units have declared class suspensions due to the bad weather. The suspension of classes have been announced to ensure the safety of students and teachers.

Here is the list of areas covered by class cancellations:

  • Bato, Catanduanes: all levels, public and private
  • Baras, Catanduanes: all levels, public and private
  • Gigmoto, Catanduanes: all levels, public and private
