PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Tuesday (January 17, 2023)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that two low-pressure areas inside PAR will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (January 17, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Two low-pressure areas will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the latest LPA has been last spotted 125 kilometers west-northwest of Puerto Princesa City. The first LPA has last located at 290 kilometers east of Maasin City, Southern Leyte. The northeast monsoon will be affecting Luzon.

The two low-pressure areas are not likely to intensify into tropical cyclones.

The LPA/Shearline will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Occidental Mindoro and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

The LPA/Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the entire Visayas.

“May panibago tayong low pressure area na namataan na nasa layong 125 kilometers west-northwest o kanuluran- hilagang kanluran naman ng Puerto Princesa City dito naman sa may bahagi ng Palawan at maliit din ‘yung tsansa na ito ay maging bagyo,” Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina said.

The shear line will also bring overcast skies and rain in the Bicol Region and Quezon. Amihan will also bring cloudy weather and rain over Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The weather agency has also raised a gale warning over Batanes, Cagayan and the Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan, La Union, Isabela, Aurora, Northern Quezon, Camarines Norte, the northern coast of Camarines Sur, northern, and eastern coasts of Catanduanes.
