Cavite Cops Caught on Video Using Abusive Force During Arrest vs Motorcycle Riders
The online community is now lambasting the Cavite cops who were caught on video using abusive force while arresting motorcycle riders.
Some members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Cavite are under hot water after videos surfaced showing them employing excessive force while arresting motorcycle riders. The video of them abusing motorbike riders went viral on social media, eliciting a variety of reactions from netizens.
According to a video shared by a netizen, police officers attempted to arrest some motorcycle riders for breaking traffic laws such as utilizing power pipes and not wearing helmets. Some riders who were apprehended resisted the police officers after being told to lie down.
As a result, one of the officers used his feet to force the rider to kneel. Another video depicts an intense interaction between a group of motorcycle riders and PNP Cavite officers. A police officer can be seen forcing one of the group members into the police vehicle.
The uploader even attempted to criticize the unjust treatment they had gotten from police enforcement. One of the motorcyclists whose motorcycle was impounded tried to ask the police officer for his key.
However, the police officer refused, and when the rider tried to forcibly obtain the key, the officer punched the man to stop him. The video was shared hundreds of times on social media and elicited diverse emotions from viewers.
Some netizens defended the police officers, claiming that the group was not cooperating with authorities. Other netizens, however, stated that policemen should always retain maximum tolerance and avoid using excessive force. PNP Cavite has yet to respond to the event.
