First New Year Message of Pres. Bongbong Marcos for the Filipino People
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President, in his first New Year message, called on the Filipinos to remain “united” as the country faces economic challenges.
Another year has ended and a new year has started, the year 2023. Many Filipinos abroad and those who are living in other cities or provinces went home to their families and loved ones so they can welcome the new year together. The Philippines undeniably has one of the grandest and loudest celebration of the new year.
This is the first new year of Pres. Bongbong Marcos as the chief executive of the country. It is his first time to give a message as the Philippine President and, in his first New Year message, he called on Pinoys to remain “steadfast, united” amid the economic challenges in the country.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the call of Pres. Bongbong Marcos for unity came amid what he described as challenging times for the public because of the high prices of a lot of products.
“Let us remain steadfast and united as ever as we ask for the Almighty’s continued guidance in our journey toward a better, brighter, and more prosperous future for our nation,” the President said.
According to Pres. Marcos, the Bayanihan Spirit of the Filipino people will pave the way in overcoming the challenges. He also expressed his hope that the Filipinos will draw strength and inspiration from the love for fellow Pinoys and the Philippines which he described as the binding factor of the nation.
Currently, the country is facing economic challenges as the costs of several products are high. One of those that many Filipinos complain is the high price of onions in the market. Amid the holiday season, several netizens even poked fun at onions making it a gift for their loved ones because it is pricey.
