Earthquake Pangasinan: 5.0 Magnitude Quake Hits Infanta

Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Pangasinan December 18, 2022

EARTHQUAKE PANGASINAN – The Phivolcs recorded a 5.0 magnitude earthquake in Infanta, December 18, 2022.

Following the 4.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted Maguindanao del Norte a few days ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Pangasinan. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 5.0.

The earthquake that struck Pangasinan on December 18, 2022 was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Infanta at 09:33 p.m.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Pangasinan was located at 15.68°North, 119.24°East – 073 km South 77° West of Infanta with a depth of origin of 013 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that there are no damages expected from the said quake but there may be aftershocks. According to the agency, Intensity I was felt in Bani, Pangasinan. No instrumental intensity was recorded of the said quake.
