ISANG PH – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) gives an update about the tropical depression.
Huaning PH was the last reported storm to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility. The 9th one to hit the country is called Isang, and recently, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released the latest update about it.

According to the update, Isang slightly decelerates as it moves to cross the Quirino Province, moving west northwestward at 15 km/h. At 4 PM, its center was spotted from Baler Doppler Weather Radar in the vicinity of Aglipay, Quirino (16.5°N, 121.6°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 90 km/h, and a central pressure of 1002 hPa.
In the update, several areas were put under Signal No. 1.
Signal No. 1 was hoisted in the following areas in Luzon:
- Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Aurora, and the northern portion of Nueva Ecija (Lupao, Carranglan, Pantabangan, San Jose City)
This has minimal to minor threat to life and property.
Isang also slightly intensified the southwest monsoon, bringing strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas:
- Today: Zambales, Bataan, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Burias Island, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Dinagat Islands, Southern Leyte, Surigao del Norte, and Camiguin.
- Tomorrow (23 August): Batanes, Cagayan, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Rizal, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, Burias Island, Camarines Sur.
- Sunday (24 August): Kalayaan Islands.
According to the forecast, Isang will exit PAR tomorrow morning or afternoon.
