PAGASA Says LPA & Shear Line to Brings Rains Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area off Surigao del Sur will bring rains over most parts of the country.

On Friday (December 9, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The LPA and shearline will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Low Pressure Area has been last spotted at 610 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. The shearline will be affecting Northern Luzon.

The shearline will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, and Apayao. Mindanao, Visayas, Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, and Batangas will experience similar condition.

The northeast monsoon will bring similar weather condition over Province of Batanes.

The shearline will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated light rains over provinces of Batanes, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Kalinga, Benguet, Mt. Province, Ifugao and Aurora.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience similar weather condition.

The weather agency warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be rough. The rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
