The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the shear line and easterlies will bring cloudy skies and rainshowers over parts of the country.

On Friday (December 2, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Easterlies and shear line will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that the shear line would be affecting the eastern section of Luzon.

The shear line will bring cloudy weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Camarines Norte, and the northern portion of Quezon.

Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, and Palawan will experience similar weather conditions due to the easterlies.

“Ngayong araw naman po, asahan ang pagbabalik ng easterlies o ang hangin galing sa Pacific ocean na generally mainit po,  magdadala ng maalinsangan panahon sa ilang lugar, at pag-uulan naman lalo na sa silangang parte ng Visayas at Mindanao. Habang ang shear line pa rin o ang linya kung saan nagtatagpo ang amihan at ang easterlies, dito po sa silangang bahagi ng Luzon,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estreja said.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas, Palawan, and the rest of Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.

The weather agency has also warned the fishermen in Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, and Cagayan not to set sail due to dangerous sea condition.
