MILF Commander Yields P3.4 Million Illegal Drugs During Buy-bust Ops
Police authorities arrested the commander of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) during illegal drugs buy-bust operation in Quezon City.
A buy-bust operation in Quezon City by the Philippine Narcotics Enforcement Agency (PDEA) resulted in the drug suspect’s arrest. According to the PDEA report, the suspect was identified as Mansawi Muntilala, based on the suspect’s ID.
According to his ID, he is said to be the MILF battalion commander and chairman of Buto Ambulong, Marawi City. Based on the report, the buy-bust was conducted during the investigation in front of SM North Edsa on North Avenue in Quezon City.
It was discovered that Muntilala and a PDEA agent transacted inside the mall for the PDEA agent to take the shabu he was carrying. They agreed outdoors, but the suspect reportedly declined since the contraband would be discovered.
The suspect was immediately grabbed and handcuffed when they caught up with him. The authorities then seized from him 500 grams of shabu valued at P3.4 million as well as buy-bust money.
Based on the information on his ID, the authorities are still confirming whether Muntilala is a legitimate MILF commander. The Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, also known as RA9165, is also being prepared against him.
