Delivery Rider Allegedly Dies Due to Overwork

A poor delivery rider passed away due to overwork during “UNDAS” (November 1, 2022), he was resting on his motorcycle when he died.

A Facebook user named LA Ocampo has shared the photo of a delivery rider named Noel Escote who passed away due to exhaustion at work. The post immediately spread like a wildfire online and elicits comments from the netizens.

In the photos, it can be seen that the hardworking man is lying on the seat of his motorcycle parked beside the road along United St. Barangay Kapitolyo in Pasig City. The rider reportedly works for Lalamove.

According to Ocampo, Escote is working day and night under the extreme heat of the sun and even during inclement weather conditions just to earn money to provide for the financial necessities of his family.

Noel worked hard and took numerous bookings after the rate charge of the courier company dropped. Ocampo also called the attention of Lalamove to take necessary action to resolve those types of problems.

Ocampo advised the delivery riders to refrain from abusing their body and take a rest when needed.
